Alaeddin Mosque
The largest mosque of the Seljuk era; the crown of the historic complex on Alaeddin Hill.
Alaeddin Mosque was built between the 12th and 13th centuries by Anatolian Seljuk sultans. One of the oldest and largest mosques in Turkey, the building forms a rich architectural whole with sections added at different periods. The mosque contains mausoleums of eight Seljuk sultans. Its hypostyle prayer hall showcases the finest examples of Seljuk tile art. Positioned on Alaeddin Hill, it commands panoramic views of the entire city. The inscriptions left by sultans and the mihrab are considered among the pinnacle works of Turkish-Islamic art.

Located on Alaeddin Hill in central Konya, about 15 minutes walk from the Mevlana Museum.
